What Arizona law says
Front side windows need about 33% light transmission, plus or minus 3%. Details below are from the cited statute, not a shop chart.
- Front side windows
- Material used with the glazing must have 33% light transmission, plus or minus 3%, and luminous reflectance of 35%, plus or minus 3%.
- Rear side and rear windows
- The rear window is excepted when the vehicle has left- and right-hand outside mirrors that show the highway for at least 200 feet behind the vehicle. Rear-of-driver side windows are addressed through reflectance, not a minimum transmission percentage.
- Windshield
- Transparent material may be applied only to the topmost portion if the bottom edge is at least 29 inches above the undepressed driver’s seat (measured as the statute specifies) and the material is not red or amber.
